History of Best & Less
Best & Less opened its first store at Parramatta on 27th May 1965.
In April 1998 Best & Less were propelled into a structured new growth phase when it was acquired by Pepkor Limited - a leading retail group in South Africa. The acquisition by Pepkor has enabled Best & Less to grow at an aggressive pace of more than 12 stores per annum to our current 179 stores, with a projected 190 stores by the end of 2009.
Best & Less Existing Stores
Currently our stores are mainly concentrated in New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania with growing representation in both Victoria and Western Australia, and one store in the Northern Territory.
Best & Less offers quality discount apparel and has made strong inroads into the major discount department store category, especially in underwear, childrenswear, youth apparel and manchester.
Best & Less management is continually looking to improve stores - layout, ambience, experience - and to project a contemporary, appealing image.
Lessor Relationships
We have good relationships with all major lessors in Australia - Westfield, Lend Lease, Stockland, Centro etc. We also have a substantial number of individual lessors across the country.
What we are looking for…
Best & Less requires locations that have an immediate catchment population in excess of 15,000 people.
